Unofficial Events - FunRun

FunRun is a game for beginners, which is very similar to the running discipline. Any dog over 18 months is welcome to participate as long as they do not compete in the official disiplines and they meet at least one of following criteria:

• they did not receive any ranking points in the 2024/2025 season
• they did not receive 10 or more points in running discipline in their latest 5 adult competitions

FunRun fundamentals are identical to the official running discipline - 90 seconds, start with double-clap, throw from start zone, catch in catching zone, bring back to start zone - but scoring is different, because you can get up to 2 points for each throw:

• Correct catching: 1 point
• Correctly bringing back a correct catch: +1 point

Correct catching

• The puller was thrown from the start zone, without the handler stepping on or over the line.
• The puller crossed the line between the running and catching zones.
• The puller touched the ground at least once.
• The puller was caught by the dog in the catching zone while it was still in motion.

Correctly bringing it back

• The dog brought the puller back to the start zone without dropping it.
• The puller was released in a way so it landed in the start zone or given to the handler while both the dog and handler were completely in the start zone.

No point is awarded

• Bringing back a puller that was not caught in motion.
• Catching a puller that didn't touch the ground.
• Catching a puller that doesn't cross the line between the running zone and catching zone.
• Handler doesn't throw from the start zone or steps on or over the line.
• Dog leaves the start zone before the double-clap.
• Not switching pullers or directions for each throw.

Dogs may leave the start zone in any direction, and they may bring the puller back from any direction.
